Tyrone Hospital and ProCare Partner on Philipsburg Event

Creating unique partnerships to grow economic development in Philipsburg and the surrounding region is top of mind for the Philipsburg Revitalization Corporation (PRC). This initiative is showing very positive results with Tyrone Hospital partnering with ProCare Therapy and Fitness in hosting PRC’s February 28 Business After Hours.

“Many families and individuals who reside in the Philipsburg area choose Tyrone Hospital for their healthcare needs”, said Stephen Gildea, CEO at Tyrone Hospital. “In that regard, Philipsburg is our community too. We want to be of service in our patients’ home community; We want to have more direct contact and more of a presence here. We are pleased to be a member of MVEDP and serve as co-host of the Business After Hours. Tyrone Hospital wants to have a more active role in healthcare in Philipsburg. The event is a welcome opportunity to make a personal connection with the business community and area residents.”

The February Business After Hours will be held at the ProCare Therapy and Fitness Philipsburg facility from 4pm to 6:30pm. Attendees will be able to talk with representatives of Tyrone Hospital, the Tyrone Hospital Orthopedic Clinics staffed by University Orthopedics Center and Blair Orthopedics, ProCare and the Breast Cancer & Women’s Health Institute; have a free blood pressure screening; explore great displays and gather helpful information; sign up for door prizes and enjoy samplings of Hogs Galore Catering.

“ProCare Therapy and Fitness is proud to host Tyrone Hospital and its After Hours event.  The two entities have enjoyed a long standing and lasting relationship.  We couldn’t think of a more perfect place to host the PRC’s business community for this fun event than ProCare in Philipsburg”, commented Jim Gregory, Director of Business Development of ProCare.

Dana L. Shoemaker, PRC Executive Director and Main Street Manager shared, “The Philipsburg Revitalization Corporation is extremely proud to partner with ProCare and with the Tyrone Hospital in our local economy.  Attracting high quality businesses to Philipsburg and expanding services available to our residents is important to continuing local economic development.  The financial and professional resources that these businesses return to the PRC help our program to support other events and our revitalization mission here locally.”

Reservations to attend the event may be made by calling Dana Shoemaker at 814-577-3954 or by emailing mainst@philipsburgpa.org. Cost to attend is only $5 per person. Deadline for reservations is Friday, February 22.
