Tyrone Hospital Expands Cardiopulmonary Services
The Tyrone Hospital Cardiopulmonary Services department has announced it is expanding its services for outpatients.

Effective June 1, 2010 the hospital’s echocardiogram service will expand to provide service, by appointment, two mornings per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Echocardiogram is a noninvasive test that is used to evaluate heart function.

Altoona Lung Specialists to Open Clinic at Tyrone Hospital
Altoona Lung Specialists has announced they will open a pulmonary medicine clinic at Tyrone Hospital June 3, 2010.

Services will be provided by George M. Zlupko, M.D., FCCP, CWS, FCCWS, and Alan J. Kanouff, D.O. Board Certified pulmonary medicine specialists (lung disease specialists).

Dr .George Zlupko said Altoona Lung Specialists wants to make pulmonary care more accessible to people in the region. “People from Northern Blair County and communities in neighboring counties are traveling into Altoona to see us. Our location in Tyrone will bring services closer to home for many people. St Joseph Institute Announces Relationship with Tyrone Hospital
St. Joseph Institute, a holistic addiction recovery center for adults, has announced a relationship with Tyrone Hospital for medical support services.

Tyrone Hospital will provide medically supervised detoxification services for residents of the Institute who require this treatment at the beginning of their 30-day program. The hospital lab will conduct medical testing and Thomas Baumgarten, M.D. of the Tyrone Hospital medical staff will serve as Medical Director of St. Joseph’s Institute.

Tyrone Hospital Celebrates New Beginning with Sign Unveiling, Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
& Business After Hours

On Thursday, April 15, 2010 Tyrone Hospital celebrated a "New Beginning" with a sign unveiling showcasing their new logo, along with a ribbon cutting ceremony, and Business After Hours in cooperation with Tyrone Chamber of Commerce.

The evening’s festivities began at 4:30 p.m. with Stephen Gildea, CEO, board members, the Tyrone Chamber of Commerce and the Blair Chamber of Commerce participating in a sign unveiling at the entrance of Tyrone Hospital. The new lighted sign will showcase Tyrone’s new logo. A ribbon cutting ceremony proceeded.

Following the sign unveiling and ribbon cutting ceremony, hospital staff, board members and administration welcomed the community to the Tyrone Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours event in the Tyrone Hospital lobby. Here the new logo was officially unveiled, as well as the new Tyrone Hospital website. Tours were also given of the facility’s new CT Scanner. Stephen Gildea, CEO of Tyrone Hospital stated, “This is an exciting time for Tyrone Hospital. We have created a fresh look to our logo, marketing material, and website. We are also providing new services as well as new equipment such as our CT Scanner.”

Advanced Regional Center for Ankle and Foot Care Now on Tyrone Hospital Campus

The Tyrone office of Advanced Regional Center for Ankle and Foot Care, has relocated and is now located on the Tyrone
Hospital Campus at 221 Hospital Drive in Suite 5.

Services at Advanced Regional Center for Ankle and Foot Care are provided by L. Jolene Moyer, DPM, Matthew Sabol, DPM,
and William J. Wiedemer, DPM, And Gary Raymond, D.P.M. All of the physicians are either Board Certified or Board Qualified.
Most of the physicians at Advanced Regional Center for Ankle and Foot Care are members of the Tyrone Hospital medical staff.

uoc_logo University Orthopedic Center to Open Clinic at Tyrone Hospital

University Orthopedic Clinic (UOC) and Tyrone Hospital have announced plans for an orthopedic clinic to be located at Tyrone Hospital. The Orthopedic Clinic’s target opening date is December 2nd.

Services will be provided by Bradley Barter, D.O., Board Certified orthopedic surgeon. Dr. Barter will provide general orthopedic
care as well as specialized foot and ankle care. His training and experience include unique competencies in treatment of foot,
ankle, knee, hand, trauma and pediatrics.

I look forward to providing quality orthopedic care to the people of Northern Blair County”, said Dr. Barter. “UOC’s association
with Tyrone Hospital and their outstanding allied professional staff is a terrific fit. This affiliation provides the citizens of this area
with easy access for orthopedic care.”

The University Orthopedic Clinic will be conveniently located on Tyrone Hospital’s first floor and will give area residents access
to office appointments and surgical care close to home. Dr. Barter will be in the clinic on Wednesdays and will allocate his time
