PRIVATE SUITES ADDING TO PATIENT COMFORT
Tyrone Hospital has launched a project to convert all of the hospital’s semi-private inpatient rooms to Private Suites. The converted rooms will provide a more comfortable and home like environment for patients and will increase patient privacy and safety.
Two rooms have been converted and are now in service. There are twelve remaining rooms to convert.
Donations from local organizations and community members have provided the resources needed to convert the rooms. The cost to convert a room ranges from $5,000 to $15,000.
Stephen Gildea, CEO at Tyrone Hospital said the generous donations from the community have provided funds enough to convert all but four of the rooms. “We have had a lot of positive feedback about the private suites. Some patients who have been admitted have specifically requested one of the completed suites.”
Mr. Gildea said there is steady progress on the project which will take several months to complete.
The Private Suites include amenities such as a recliner chair, new flat screen television, updated paint and accent borders, new bedside cabinets, new blinds and window sills and modernized heating and cooling units.
For more information regarding the Private Suites project or to make a donation please contact Mr. Gildea personally at the Tyrone Hospital administration office at (814) 684-1255 ext 1302.
